A Project

I'm a blog and podcast stalker. Anything related to photography, but also books, movies, music, and sometimes food (thanks to my mom, who loves food blogs and let's me know about the interesting ones). Earlier this week, I was editing and listening to a podcast by Ron Dawson, who interviews successful professional photographers about their personal lives, and his guest (who this week happened to be his wife Tasra) mentioned that a mentor of hers told her once that if you do three things a day, in a year your photography will be 300% better than it was when you started. Here's what he said: take a photo every day, read a page from your manual with your camera in hand, and look at photos taken by people you admire. I already do the last one almost daily, but I thought the first two sounded like good things to do, so... here I go:

My super amazing and very supportive (even though I tend to check out a little... alright ALOT during wedding season) brought me these custardy fruity things from Whole Foods today after he got off work. Boys, it's the little things that make us melt.

As for what I learned from my trusty manual, I won't bore you. Suffice to say, it was about Active D-Lighting (something I never use). The photographer whose work I looked at is Jerry Ghionis. I could look at his photos all day (and sometimes do). There's no other way to say it: He rocks.

I'm not sure that I'll post my photos and findings every day, but it's possible that I'll combine some days and keep you up to date every once in awhile. We'll see how that goes.

Enjoy your Friday!
