As Dana and I were talking about possible locations for their Engagement Session, she mentioned Mingo Park in Finleyville. I couldn't remember ever shooting there, so I agreed - happy to try out a new place. However, when we got there, I realized that that park was the one Lori chose the very first time I shot with her as her second shooter three and a half years ago. I remembered it all so clearly as I drove through the covered bridge - the excitement and anxiety of my first wedding as a professional (sort of). Three years into having my own company and 100+ weddings later, and I can happily say the anxiety is completely gone, but I'm still so excited to be doing what I love.
Dave and Dana are getting married in January, so we wanted to take advantage of the warmer weather and fall colors for their Engagement Session. I don't know how many times I said - "ahhh, this light is amaaazing..." during the hour we were shooting. I'm sure they were plenty sick of my swooning by the end.
We had such a nice time walking around the park, and it was so fun getting to know them before I shoot their wedding. I'm a huge advocate of Engagement Sessions for that very reason, and also because after we shoot together, all that stress about what it's going to be like is gone by the time the wedding comes around. In short - it's fun, and there's nothing to be nervous about, but that's better shown that said.
Here's a few of Dave and Dana - in the amaaazing afternoon light...

Such a pretty girl - and I love the sass in the one -

Dave was so happy when I said I'm not a "say cheese" photographer, but I made him smile at the camera for just one...
Love this -
