Nicole - Senior Session

Last Wednesday, I met Nicole and her mom at her grandparents house for her Senior Session. Nicole is Lindsay (Braden) LaRue's cousin and I couldn't be happier to meet more of the family! The Javens, Nicole and Lindsay's grandparents, have a great back yard, so we took all Nicole Senior Photos on their property. We talked about school, possible careers, her childhood growing up in Turkey, and her hopes to live there again someday. She's a very sweet and beautiful girl, and I very much enjoyed spending time with her and her mom, as well as the Javens.

Josh and Kristy - September 26, 2009

On Saturday, Josh and Kristy were married at the Fox Chapel Golf Course, where their reception was also held.

Earlier this year, I met Kristy and her mom to talk about photography. As they talked about Kristy's wedding, I was fascinated (and dare I say happy?) to find that "tradition" was not among their priorities in the least. I love it when brides make their wedding their own and infuse their style and personality into all the many details, and Kristy did just that. The result was a stunningly elegant yet modern and edgy wedding from start to finish.

Josh surprised me. I was expecting a laid back super cool guy (which he was) who would be somewhat uninterested in photos or dancing. As you can see below, he committed to his photos with Kristy (thankyousomuch), and got down on the dance floor. He and Kristy were tons of fun to photograph - both during their photo shoot and while they danced the night away with their friends and family.

The beautiful Kristy.

The five adorable kids Kristy nannies.

Kristy had no trouble being fabulous.

She was making him laugh during his photos -

so I put her back in.

Faith's speech brought the house down.

A little drama.

Love this one-

Their first dance.

The last note. Well done, Josh.

LOVE IT.

Jason and Kayla - Engagement Session

Jason and Kayla have been so patient! Usually, I try to blog within a few days of a shoot, but lately it's been longer - sometimes much longer - before I can get to it. I love being busy, but I do wish there were more hours in the day...

Last Thursday, Jason, Kayla, their two dogs, and Kayla's parents met me in Sewickley by the river for their E-Session. Kayla's parents were nice enough to come along to help out with the dogs - and it was so nice to meet them! I believe only pet owners know how animals have a special way of becoming family members, and that's just how Jason and Kayla feel about their dogs. I'm so glad they brought them along!

I love the location they chose. There was so much variety - a tunnel, a wrought iron fenced walkway, grassy areas, and active train tracks. The day was gorgeous, and although all three of us got attacked by some particularly vicious thorny pickers on our way to the tracks, we had a great time and got tons of awesome shots!
