Last Sunday, I met Amir and EPauline in Pittsburgh for their Engagement Session. We had scheduled their session for the week before, but had to postpone due to excessive iciness. On the morning of their shoot, we considered rescheduling again, but decided to give it a try. We lucked out completely and got a beautiful afternoon! Amir and EPauline are such lovely people, and it was wonderful getting to know them a little better. I'm looking forward to their wedding in June!

My niece, Christe (pronounced Christy), is a faithful blog follower, and happened to be hanging out with me while I was putting together this post. I asked her to help choose the photos (much to her delight), and this is one of her picks:

Josh - Senior Session
I met Josh (who was referred to me by the awesome Nicole Schneider) in New Brighton for his Senior Photos. We started down by the river, and I shouldn't have been surprised, but it was unbelievably cold for the first fifteen minutes. I told him we should take a break so he could get warm, but it was also because I had lost all feeling in my fingers. Seriously. By the end though, it was actually pretty nice out - we even got a little sun for some gorgeous backlit photos.
Josh is into music and art, and is really fun to hang out with! Here's a few of my favorites from his session:

The Belcastro Family
I shot the Belcastro's family session the same day as Josh and Jackie's session. We had decided on Brady's Run, and even though it was the coldest day of the year up to that point, we went for it! We were all freezing, but looking at the photos, you'd never be able to tell. They were all so nice and sweet, and we ended up with some great photos, despite the weather.

Josh and Jackie - Engagement Session
December Engagement Sessions are always exciting in Pennsylvania. Much like my homestate, Michigan, the weather is truly unpredictable. One day it's short sleeves and sunshine, and the next it could be a blizzardy mess. Last Sunday was more like the latter, so with a suggestion from local photographer Milla Chappell, we decided on the Zoo and Aquarium. The idea was to spent as little time outside as possible, but that sort of backfired on us when we found out we had to walk all the way through the zoo to get to the aquarium. We made the best of the situation, however, and ended up having a great time in the falling snow.
Josh and Jackie came in from the Chicago area, where they are planning their wedding long distance with the help of the lovely Sumer Schmitt (www.simplyperfectwedding.net). I highly recommend having a professional assist you with your planning. I work with a few in the area, and have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them!
I had such a fun afternoon with Josh and Jackie. They are beautifully in love and it's clear that they are such good friends, too. I enjoyed my time with them so much and can't wait to see them again for their wedding in June!

Andrew and Danielle - November 28, 2009
Danielle and Andrew know what it's like to be far away from each other. For the last several months, they have been planning their wedding not only long distance from their location, but long distance from each other. She is finishing up her student teaching, and he is in the military, but just weeks from now, they will be moving to Alaska - together! I can only imagine how ecstatic they are to know their time apart is finally over.
On to their beautiful wedding:
Andrew and Danielle were married at Park Presbyterian Church in Beaver and their reception was at The Timberhouse on Rolling Acres Golf Course. Danielle's bridal session was a few weeks ago at the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, and I LOVE how her images turned out. We both liked the location so much that she decided to have Tabitha and I meet the groomsmen there first before we met her and the ladies. She found her dress at Ribbon Bridal in Beaver (www.ribbonbridal.com), a gorgeous boutique bridal shop owned by the lovely Melanie Vaughan, and also decided to get ready there - which was an excellent decision! The salon is just beautiful, very well lit, and Melanie and her wonderful staff were so helpful, and just as excited as everyone else!
After their beautiful ceremony, we drove a few miles to Felicity Farms for their photos. The light was perfect, and although it was a little chilly by summer standards, it was unseasonably warm for November.
Their Timberhouse reception was gorgeous - elegant decor, crackling fireplaces, wonderful food, and guests who danced the night away with the happy couple.
Here's a few of my favorites:
